Got out of the house early to go to the National Book Festival on the Mall (same location the Science Festival will be). Spent multiple hours there listening to various authors speak.
My favorite talks were:
-Laura Bush (she read an excerpt from her memoir about her experience on 9/11 and it was very moving)
-Suzanne Collins (author of the Hunger Games Trilogy--notable fact: she is also a Make It or Break It fan!)
-Julia Glass (had never heard of her but she was amazingly articulate/a great speaker)
-Elizabeth Kostova (I have one of her books at home and now very much look forward to reading it, as well as, her other book The Historian)
We met up with Trevor Cleary, a family friend, and he showed us around Annapolis (where he is attending the Naval Academy) and we went out to dinner.
TaTa for Now!
